It' as a decadent vegan dessert option. You can prepare it just from 2 ingredients

Aquafaba is the liquid that comes from cooked or canned chickpeas, it's a magical ingredient which creates a light and fluffy vegan chocolate mousse

Vegan Chocolate Mousse

  • 1 chocolate block 100g - pick your favourite, as it will be a dominant flavour of this dessert

  • aquafaba - liquid from a can of chickpeas, chilled in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours


1. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate either using a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly.

2. In a separate clean bowl, pour the chilled aquafaba.

3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the aquafaba on high speed until stiff peaks form. This may take around 5-8 minutes.

4. Once the aquafaba has reached stiff peaks, gently fold in the melted chocolate until well combined. Be careful not to deflate the aquafaba too much.

5. Transfer the chocolate mousse mixture into serving bowls or glasses.

6. Refrigerate the mousse for at least 1-2 hours to set and chill.
