Breakfast or Brunch Lentils


  • 1 glass (180 g) red lentils

  • Chopped tomatoes 2x400 g tins

  • 2 chopped onions

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

  • 5/6 glasses of water

  • 5 tablespoon oil

  • Salt, pepper to taste

  • Parsley to garnish



1. Place the olive oil in a pan over medium heat, fry chopped garlic for about 15 seconds after add the onions

2. Simmer for 3 minutes and add all the spices, mix it and leave on a medium heat for 2 minutes

3. Add the lentils and cook for another 3-4 minutes

4. Add water and tinned tomatoes , cover with a lid and leave it on a small heat for about 12 minutes

5. Remove the lid and leave it simmer for about 8-10 minutes adding extra water if needed.

6. Season with salt and pepper

7. Garnish with parsley and enjoy it with a slice of bread
